Around 30 protesters marched along the road at Exhibition St at 8am today, disturbing peak hour traffic before police forced the group onto the footpath.
Protests in Melbourne began on Wednesday and will continue until Saturday.
The second day of protests saw the small group walk along Exhibition St before they moved on to state Parliament.
A large police presence moved the group off the road after 30 minutes of traffic delays, in a swift and organised response
The group held climate action signs and chanted as they continued to walk up the street while police filmed and tracked them.
Protester Adam told the Today Show a day of protests was planned for Melbourne, intent on disrupting the city.

“This could be it, this is the planet that we’ve lived on for billions of years of evolution and we’re just heating it up more and more until we can’t live anymore,” he said.
“We can’t stand for that.
“How can we let ourselves be the last generation?”
A statement from the group said the actions would build towards large-scale disruption on Saturday, where a forecast 200 people would sit on the road and refuse to move in a display of civil resistance.
Later today, protests will include a “grief cocoon”, a protest at the State Library and a plan to disrupt evening peak hour traffic.
The protesters blocked traffic between Flinders Street and King Street in the CBD.
