The director of public prosecutions has officially appealed the sentence handed to Kristian White, who was spared jail and sentenced to a two-year community corrections order last month.

White was previously found guilty of manslaughter after he fatally tasered 95-year-old Clare Nowland at her aged care home in 2023.

The appeal will be heard in court next week on Thursday, April 17.

Two of Clare Nowland’s eight children told 9News they were “really disappointed” by the sentence given to White.
