The second rape trial for That 70’s Show star Danny Masterson has begun and the prosecution is being very blunt.
Prosecution Is Taking A Tough Approach
Danny Masterson’s second trial is officially underway, and the prosecution’s approach was pretty forceful. They boldly recounted the story of how Masterson allegedly brutally assaulted the unidentified accuser.
Before continuing the quote is a hard one to read and involves what could be a triggering re-telling of a sexual assault:
Los Angeles deputy district attorney Reinhold Mueller spoke ahead of the four women set to testify against the disgraced actor. “The evidence will show they were drugged,” claimed Mueller.
He continued, “The symptoms that they’re going to describe,” will involve “lightheadedness, loss of vision, loss of motor skills, loss of strength, inability to control their body, vaginal pain, anal pain, all occurring after the defendant had given them an alcoholic beverage and all occurring within a matter of minutes.”
Unfortunately, many of the Jane Doe’s recounted the same actions from Masterson the morning after the alleged attacks enticing the DA to be as descriptive as he can for the sake of the case.
Danny Masterson Victims Share Their Stories
Mueller’s opening statement claimed that Masterson anally assaulted most if not all of the victims involved. One woman testified that “When she awoke in bed, she was confused, she was disoriented, she was in a lot of pain. … She asked, ‘What happened last night?’ … He laughed at her and said, ‘Oh, I had sex with you there.’ She questioned him if she was unconscious. He said ‘yes,’ that she was unconscious the whole time.”

This is the first time that a victim has said that Masterson admitted to them that he “drugged” them. In the first trial, the prosecution strongly suggested it but because “There is no drugging charge in this case,” according to Phillip Cohen, the actor’s attorney they couldn’t outright accuse him of it.
Who Are Danny Masterson’s Alleged Victims
The victims in this second trial have names. Jennifer B., Christina B., and N. Trout all claim their attacks took place in the early 2000s. With the allegations from these three women alone, Masterson is looking at 45 years.
One more victim, Kathy J is set to testify as a “prior bad acts witness.” This means that while her accusations aren’t specifically tied to charges and the jury is not making any decisions around r testimony, her account will hopefully establish a pattern of behavior for the former actor.
New witnesses will be introduced that as well will focus on the effects of drugs and alcohol on memory. Mueller also says the will hear testimony from an LAPD officer from the toxicology unit who will talk about the drug-facilitated sexual assaults.
“what you would expect to be the common side effects and symptoms after ingesting the drugs … there’s a very, very narrow window of time to detect that it was in your blood.”
Danny Masterson’s Attorneys
The main point of focus for Masterson’s legal team regarding this accusation is that there is no “tangible” evidence to substantiate these accusations. Cohen specifically said, “There’s no toxicology report, there’s no urine, there’s no DNA.”
He also accuses Jane Doe of being in contact ahead of the trial and going to the LAPD together with the intention to create a bigger case. He told the jurors that some of the alleged victims continued to see and be intimate with Masterson after the supposed assaults.
