Prince William’s billionaire pal Sunjay Kapur’s wife, ex-wife attend prayer meet after his death at 53

Sunjay Japur’s heartbroken loved ones reunited for a prayer met on Sunday just over a week after he fatally swallowed a bee at age 53.

Prince William’s longtime friend, who was the chairman of global car parts giant Sona Comstar, died from a heart attack on a polo field in Windsor, England, on June 12.

Ten days after his tragic ending, his family traveled to Taj Palace Hotel in Delhi, India where they paid tribute to the billionaire businessman at the service.

His wife Priya Sachdev, who had organized the event, was joined by Kapur’s ex-wife and Bollywood superstar Karisma Kapoor, as well as the two children she shared with the businessman: Samaira and Kiaan.

Kapoor was also joined by her sister, Kareena, and brother-in-law, Saif Ali Khan.

Sachdev’s son Azarias, whom she shared with Kapur, also attended the prayer meet.

All attendees were dressed in white ensembles for the service, which took place just days after Kapur’s heartbreaking final photo was shared online.

Just moments before he had stepped out onto the field, Kapur had posed for a photo with Jaisal Singh — the captain and patron of polo team Sujan Indian Tigers, against whom Kapur’s team played in the subsidiary final of the coveted Queen’s Cup.

“Today we play the final of the Cartier Trophy in the memory of our dear friend Sunjay Kapur, who tragically passed away on the field a few days ago,” the team wrote on Instagram on June 15.

“Our Captain and Patron, Jaisal Singh, will mount up with the team to observe a minute’s silence in honor of his dear old friend Sunjay, and then sit out as a mark of respect 🙏🏼.”

The club revealed that it was Kapur’s final photo before he reportedly stung by a bee on the mouth, triggering an anaphylactic shock that caused his heart to stop.

“RIP Sunjay; you will be missed – your tireless enthusiasm and patronage will be remembered forever by the entire polo community.”

At the time of his death, Kapur had been playing at the prestigious Guards Polo Club in Windsor, which is often frequented by members of the royal family.

Kapur, who had an estimated net worth of $1.2 billion, often took part in exclusive matches across the UK and was invited to play with members of the royal fold, including the Prince of Wales, 43.

It was revealed last week that the keen polo player — who also boasted US citizenship — shouted, “I’ve swallowed something!” moments before his untimely death.
