Commissioner Wassing says the SES is prepared for the dangerous weather to expand.
“We have pre-deployed some capabilities and some management teams up into the north-east as well,” he said, later clarifying that he meant those assets were in place north of Kempsey.
“The system could potentially – is already reaching into the lower parts of the north-east already, as we see.
“And we’ve also got some preparation even around Sydney.
“So, here we are in Sydney and there is some active rainfall events there.
“Different set of circumstances, but, again, with pre-positioning and focused in terms of the situation there.
“And then we do have some focus into next week associated with the winds into the south and south-east parts of New South Wales as well.”
