Thomann was six months pregnant at the time and lost her baby in the fall.
She was rushed to hospital with serious chest and head injuries but died on December 29.
At the time of the tragedy, Thomann was on holiday with her partner.
The principal of Dos Pueblos High School, the school at which Thomann taught at paid tribute to the beloved teacher.
“Ms Thomann was so kind and such a great teacher who loved her students and loved science. Our hearts break for her family and for all of us who are feeling this loss.”
