The pot has hit $100 million after the previous five Powerball draws delivered no division one winners.
The Lott expects that “up to half” of the adults in the country would pick up a ticket before purchases close at 7.30pm AEST.
“The last time we had a $100 million Powerball draw was only six weeks ago when a Bankstown dad pocketed the entire jackpot prize and became Australia’s second-biggest individual lottery winner,” The Lott spokesperson Anna Hobdell said.

“On that occasion, the peak of sales was at 6.29pm on the day of the draw when more than 8227 tickets were sold in a single minute.”
People who do punt on a ticket are advised to register any entries to a player card or online account so they can be contacted after the draw if they win a piece of the pie.
