One in two Aussie adults were expected to buy a ticket for Thursday night's Powerball draw

Millions of Aussies are scrambling to find their tickets in the hope of a lifechanging windfall following Thursday night’s Powerball $100million draw.

The jackpot has gone off with one lucky entry taking home $100million.

The jackpot was the third biggest prize this year, and the sixth largest in Australian lottery history.

The winning numbers for Powerball draw 1475 are 16, 24, 11, 4, 10, 18 and 23. The Powerball was 6.

Ten division two winners are almost $190,000 richer while another 213 entries will take home $11,008.65 each.

Up to half of Australia’s adult population were expected to buy a ticket for Thursday night’s draw.

‘If just one person takes home the entire $100 million prize on Thursday night, they’ll not only receive a substantial boost to their bank account but also share the crown of Australia’s third biggest lottery winner ever,’ The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said.

“Only five Aussies know what it’s like to win a lottery prize of $100 million or more, but perhaps we’ll add to that tally on Thursday night.

The last six figure jackpot was in May, when an Adelaide man became the biggest lottery winner in Australian history after a $150million windfall.

Eleven Powerball division one winners have pocketed more than $492million so far this year, with five wins being in NSW ($210m) four in Queensland ($120m), and one each in South Australia ($150m) and Victoria ($12m).

More than half of the winning entries were QuickPicks, and almost half were PowerHit entries, which is a Powerball entry that guarantees the Powerball number needed to win division one.
