A man whose body was found in the water near a boat ramp in South Australia has been remembered as a ‘good bloke’ who would help anybody.
Simon Harris, 50, was found unresponsive in the water at Solomontown in Port Pirie, at 6am on Saturday.
Mr Harris was declared dead at the scene, with CCTV footage from a nearby business showing him alive just 30 minutes earlier.
His partner, who asked not to be named, said she’d been with him the night before and that he ‘seemed alright’ at the time.
‘He’s a good bloke, he’d help anybody, yeah, if you were down and out he’d help you, made you laugh, he cared about everyone,’ the woman told Nine News.
‘He was down to earth. He’ll be missed and by his family.’
SA Police said the death is not being treated as suspicious at this stage of the investigation but a cause would need to be determined by the coroner.
It is unclear how Mr Harris ended up in the water.

Officers took pictures of a pushbike near the boat ramp which Mr Harris was believed to have been riding before his death.
The area was briefly cordoned off to the public on Saturday as detectives scoured the scene and divers searched the water but was reopened by mid-afternoon.
