Police are working with the Israeli social media influencer who publicised alleged antisemitic comments by two Sydney nurses to ensure any statement he provides will meet Australian legal standards.

It comes as the influencer, Max Veifer, posted a video to his social media commenting on the situation.

Veifer began by thanking his supporters and those who had shared his videos.

“Yesterday I spoke with the NSW police again,” he said.

“Since this is an ongoing investigation, I can’t share details.

“I’m, confident they have enough evidence, including my uncut video.”

Veifer said the Jewish community needed to be united to make Australia a safe place for Jewish people.

NSW Police was supplied with the full video on Friday in which two Sydney nurses allegedly boasted about killing Israeli patients.

Police are still working to determine if any charges can be laid against nurses Ahmad Rashad Nadir and Sarah Abu Lebdeh after the video emerged last week.

In a statement this afternoon, NSW Police said it was working with Veifer to finalise a statement “to ensure it meets Australian legal standards to be admissible in court”.

“As the influencer is in Israel and the video believed to be created in Israel, police need to manage the complexities involved in gathering and producing evidence from an overseas jurisdiction to meet Australian legal requirements for the evidence to be admissible in Australian courts,” police said.

They said that detectives were working to resolve the investigation as swiftly as possible.
