Police are investigating the death of a man near the Brisbane central business district overnight.

He was asked to leave a business on the corner of Ann and Morgan streets in Fortitude Valley about 12.20am before being restrained by security guards.

Moments later, he became unresponsive and died at the scene, despite CPR being given.

A crime scene has been declared, and investigations are ongoing today.
