Police were called to reports of a fight near Society Avenue in Lyndhurst about 8.30pm yesterday.
When they arrived, they found a man with serious injuries from a stabbing.
Police said the other people believed to be involved had fled the scene.
The injured man was taken to hospital but died later.
He is yet to be identified by police.
Anyone who witnessed the incident has been urged to come forward.
