A man wanted in connection with the shooting of a 33-year-old woman while she sat in a car on the Gold Coast last week remains on the run and may be interstate, police say.
Linley Anyos was taken to hospital in a critical condition after being shot at a property on Trees Road in Tallebudgera on Wednesday.
She was expected to come out of a coma today.
Detectives believe the man they’re searching for may have only met Anyos for the first time the day she was shot.
They say he travelled to the Trees Road property along with Anyos and her partner to help someone move out of the property.
Specialist police searched a property in Southport two days after the shooting, hoping to find the person of interest.
“Nothing was located at the address, but we believe that person had been staying there and was there prior to attending Trees Road,” Detective Inspector Mark Mooney said.
A white Hino tow truck – believed to have been used by the man and today found dumped in Nerang – is also a crucial part of the investigation.
“We understand that it drove around the area for maybe an hour or two before turning back into the Nerang area.”
Police are looking to speak to anyone who may have visited the property or area that day.
