Police were called to a boat ramp on Floyd Bay, in Lansvale after reports of a woman and two children in distress in the water.
The woman was pulled from the water a short time later but she could not be revived.
Police, Marine Area Command, PolAir and SES are currently searching for the two children reportedly seen with her in the water.
