Police said two men allegedly assaulted three people sleeping in a shelter in Katherine on October 10 last year.

A 32-year-old man was arrested in Acacia on Tuesday and police searched his home in Girraween.

“A number of illegal items were seized including an unsecured firearm, sword fish rostrum and a live crocodile,” police said.

The man has been charged with three counts of aggravated assault, possess/use firearm unlicensed, possess/use firearm without permit and ail to meet storage requirements.

He was bailed to appear in Darwin Local Court on June 13.
