A man shot two women before turning the gun on himself in a home in Perth, police have said.

Police have confirmed the man shot a gun killing a woman in her 50s and critically injuring a woman in her late teens, before killing himself, at a home on Berkeley Crescent in Floreat around 4.30pm (6.30pm AEST).

Officers confirmed the man in his 60s went to the home where the women were before firing the shots.

“St John WA provided emergency treatment to the younger female before conveying her to Royal Perth Hospital, where she later died,” Western Australia Police said in a statement.

“The male in his 60s is known to the female in her 50s through a mutual contact.”

Police said a large amount of police resources were deployed to the area yesterday, including the Tactical Response Group and specialist detectives.

An investigation into their deaths is ongoing.

“WA Police will continue to provide support and assistance to the family, friends and first- responders affected by this tragic incident.”
