A pole-wielding man has unleashed on innocent motorists in Perth, smashing car windows and leaving drivers and passengers showered by shattered glass.
Traffic at a busy intersection was forced to drive through red lights and over median strips to avoid the violent rampage in the beach suburb of Scarborough on Christmas Day in the afternoon.
Footage captures the terrifying rampage, as motorists called police saying there was a man with what looked like a crowbar smashing passing cars on the Scarborough Beach Road and West Coast Highway intersection.
Witness Mark Wells said he and his kids counted nine windows being smashed.

“They were a bit scared. Our five-year-old said he was close to tears,” Wells said
A 40-year old man was arrested at the nearby Ramada apartments, WA Police said.
He’ll front court tomorrow charged with four counts of criminal damage.
