A pedestrian was nearly hit by a woman allegedly seven times over the legal blood alcohol limit before she crashed into a post office in a remote South Australian town.
Police were called to a post office on Hutchison Street at Coober Pedy after reports a car crashed into the building about 3.15pm on Thursday.

“The crash caused damage to the post office boxes, delivery door and brick wall,” South Australia Police said in a statement.

It’s alleged the woman was on her way to school pick-up before the crash.

The man said he was half a metre from being hit.

Police alleged the 47-year-old woman recorded a positive breath test of 0.379.

She was reported for drink driving and aggravated driving without due care.

The woman lost her licence on the sport for 12 months.

“She will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date,” police said.
