Emergency services were called to First Avenue in Kilkenny after the 62-year-old pedestrian was allegedly struck by the car just before 9.45am on November 19.

South Australia Police said the Woodville Gardens man was taken to Royal Adelaide Hospital and died yesterday.

“The driver of the utility, a 60-year-old man from Strathalbyn, was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he had a sample of his blood taken,” South Australia Police said in a statement.

“He was reported for aggravated driving without due care.”

Police said he would be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

Investigations are ongoing.

The man’s death is the 104th on the state’s roads this year compared to 62 at the same time last year.

The South Australia Police commissioner’s son Charlie Stevens was the 101st to be killed in an alleged hit-and-run last Friday.
