Officers determined a shooting had occurred and the suspect had fled the scene.
‘One adult male was found deceased in a common area, and one woman was taken to the hospital and is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries,’ authorities said.
‘The mall will be locked down for at least the next 12 hours,’ Balken said.
‘We believe the shooter fled the area and is at large. We also believe this shooting may have been targeted,’ authorities later wrote.
‘Right now we are conducting a secondary sweep of the mall and are investigating this shooting,’ they added.
In videos and photos circulating on social media, holiday shoppers can be seen shouting and streaming out of the mall.
