A P-plater from Sydney’s west has escaped a major crash with just a few cuts after his car rolled eight times on a busy highway.
The ordeal was caught on dashcam and CCTV, with the white Audi seen swerving through traffic before it became airborne, flipping eight times onto the opposite side of the Hume Highway in Casula about 7.30pm on Tuesday.
The Audi then landed upright, with the 17-year-old driver inside miraculously uninjured.
Witnesses quickly ran to the driver’s aid as he managed to get out of the crash with just a minor hand injury.
“This is a very horrible… Very emotional thing to see,” witness Abhinandan Kumar said
“The car… One side was completely damaged.”
“The way in which angle it flipped… He has been lucky, that’s what I can say.”
The driver was taken to Liverpool Hospital and underwent mandatory testing.
A sedan was also caught up in the crash, but the 25-year-old driver was also unharmed.
Locals told 9News that the stretch of the Hume Highway is notorious for crashes, and have called on the council to install better safety measures.
