There’s an outpouring of grief for a Perth girl who died after an e-scooter crash in Wanneroo.

The 13-year-old’s family remembered her as kind and cheeky kid with a beautiful smile, while pleading for others to take extra care, saying no parent should outlive their child.

Relatives were forced to say their goodbyes as Ava lost her week-long fight for life in Perth Children’s Hospital on Thursday.

Sabine Winton, the Child Protection Minister and Wanneroo MP, said it was “an absolute tragedy”.

“I can’t imagine what the parents and family are going through at the moment,” she said.

Ava’s father Michael Seculovic paid tribute to his little girl, saying: “I know you because I love you, thank you for everything … I will talk to you in time.”

Other loved ones have set up an online fundraiser.

“Her family are urging to share the message to other families – please make sure your kids are wearing helmets and take all safety measures to keep safe,” it said.

“No parent should outlive their child.”

The teen suffered severe head injuries in the incident.
