Two people are dead after a shooting incident in Victoria’s southwest.

The man and woman, who are yet to be formally identified, were found by a passerby on a remote walking track near Wreck Beach at about 10.45am on Friday. 

Police rushed to the scene at Gellibrand Lower following the grim discovery. 

It is believed a gun was found at the scene, the Herald Sun reports, but Victoria Police said they were not searching for anyone else in relation to the incident.

The man and woman are yet to be identified.  

‘The circumstances surrounding the deaths are yet to be determined,’ a statement from Victoria Police said. 

‘Officers have cordoned off the area and a crime scene has been established.’

‘At this early stage, police are not treating either death as suspicious.

‘Police will prepare a report for the coroner.’
