Oswaldo Cabrera insists he’s still a switch hitter — do the Yankees agree?

How does one get out of a platoon if he does not get much of a chance to prove he should not be in one?

Asking for Oswaldo Cabrera.

To be fair, it is early. Perhaps Cabrera won’t sit against every left-hander the rest of the season or be pinch-hit for late by the righty-swinging Pablo Reyes against every tough lefty reliever.

Cabrera got his fair share of chances versus southpaws last season and struggled mightily against them. Even by the end of 2023, it got to the point where the switch-hitter started facing lefties as a left-handed hitter because he was more comfortable from that side and was coming up empty too often from the right side.
