Olympic medallist Shawn Johnson had a frightening day wondering if her children would be affected by the Nashville shooter.
Shawn Johnson’s Kid’s School Was In Lockdown

The active Nashville shooter was at a private catholic school called Covenant School. While Johnson’s kids do not attend that private catholic school. They were nearby enough to have their school go into lockdown.
The former Olympian took to Instagram Story to express her fear and mixed emotions while she awaited her kids to be released from lockdown. She expressed gratitude when her kids took her home in her arms.

“I haven’t been able to catch my breath since reading the news and getting a call from our school that they were on lockdown as well given the news. Shaking. Crying. Heartbroken. Horrific,” wrote Johnson.
“Our babies are now home with us. I feel lucky and blessed but still so incredibly sad. No parent or family should ever have to deal with this.”
Shawn Johnson Detailed Her POV

The Dancing With The Star participant recounted what was happening outside her Nashville home.

The shocking scene led Johnson to share a prayer for the children who got shot for doing what they are supposed to do Monday to Friday, attending school, and being educated. And the adults who chose the educator profession or work in the school system in another capacity.

“So far; 3 children and 2 adults have died,” she wrote. “Praying for the families whose baby won’t be coming home from school today and the families who have lost a piece of themselves,” continued the medallist.
“I also pray for the children and adults who may have witnessed, first hand, the heinous acts of violence inflicted today: Jesus, please be near.”
