Oh My: Harris Campaign Tells Everyone to Go Home

We’re still live-blogging the results tonight, and right now it’s looking good for Donald Trump. But don’t take my word for it — even the Kamala Harris campaign seems to think the same thing.

An hour ago, while Trump parties with his campaign and supporters at Mar-a-Lago, Harris’ team will … go home and get some sleep. No, really:

In Pennsylvania, O’Malley Dillon said the campaign has seen high turnout in areas of the state with large non-white and student populations. In Philadelphia, the campaign expects to see higher turnout than in 2020. She said she is waiting for more results in Michigan, but the campaign has seen strong turnout in Detroit. She doesn’t expect full results in Wisconsin until 3 a.m.-5 a.m. “What we do know is this race is not going to come into focus until the early morning hours. We’ll continue to keep you all updated as we get more information,” she wrote. “This is what we’ve been built for, so let’s finish up what we have in front of us tonight, get some sleep, and get ready to close out strong tomorrow.”

Dillon told workers that the campaign overperformed in Philadelphia and that their best path to victory is by holding the Blue Wall states. As of this moment, Trump leads in all three states, and not by razor-thin margins either. He’s up almost 4 points in Wisconsin with 77% of the vote counted (but over 100,000 absentees from Milwaukee left to count), up 4.2 in Michigan with 45% of precincts reporting (but Detroit only at 16%), and up 2.9 points in Pennsylvania with 85% of precincts reporting.

It’s too early to call this race, but not too early to notice which campaign just called it a night.
