NZ police chase down man on allegedly stolen ride-on mower

Video footage has emerged of police officers chasing down and apprehending a man on a ride-on mower following an alleged burglary in New Zealand.

Auckland Police shared the short video clip to their Instagram account earlier this week, saying the incident happened in Karaka, a small rural area in the city’s south.

The video shows three officers in pursuit, and quickly gaining on the man, who looks over his shoulder before continuing on.

The first officer reaches for the man’s arm and the mower appears to come to a stop.

He remains before the courts and was remanded to appear on March 21.
