Natasha Fyles has announced she will step down as chief minister and health minister of the Northern Territory from Thursday.

Fyles said that was ‘an error’ but ‘not deliberate or intentional’.
At a press conference today, Fyles said “high standards are expected from people holding high office”.

“While I did not intentionally fail to declare this interest, it is clear I have failed to meet the standards that are set for us and instead standards they set for myself,” she told reporters.
“I will not make any excuses for that.
“For this reason, I believe the honourable cause of action is to resign as Chief Minister. I care too much about the territory, I care too much about our government.”
