A Dapto woman had purchased Lotto entries to Monday and Wednesday’s draw and was ecstatic when she found out she won $1 million.
But the excitement was only amplified when her husband said he had also bought tickets to the Monday and Wednesday draw and also won $1 million.
”It’s actually a funny story as to why we ended up with the same entry twice,” the man said.
“I forgot to put my wife’s numbers on last week, and she wasn’t too happy with me. So, this week I thought I’d put them on twice to make up for it.
“Lo and behold, this morning she kept crossing off number after number on her ticket, and once we realised we’d won $1 million on one ticket, I thought I should probably tell her about the second identical ticket too.”
The woman has played the numbers for almost 30 years, her husband said, and always thought they would win.
”I can’t believe this has happened to us,” he said.
The pair plan to spend their winnings by buying their daughter a house and setting up the children and grandchildren for life.

”Once we’ve done that, then we can enjoy whatever is left,” the woman said.
“I’d love to travel around Australia and see all the parts of our country I haven’t seen.”
The pair drew the winning numbers 29, 44, 4, 18, 35 and 45 with supplementary numbers 10 and 32.
The tickets were purchased at Dapto Newsagency and NewsXpress in Dapto.
The odds of winning division one, based on one standard game, are 8.15 million to one.
