Nicolas Cage’s ex is suing him for negligence, negligent supervision and negligent undertaking.
Christina Fulton took legal action against the actor — and their son, Weston — in the Superior Court of California in Los Angeles County on Wednesday, according to People.
She claimed that Cage enabled Weston during an alleged mental health crisis that led to her allegedly being attacked by the 34-year-old last year, the outlet reports.
Now Fulton is claiming that Cage “failed to take action to prevent Weston from committing acts of violence and harming others.”
She wrote, “Weston has a long history of mental and psychological disorder and a history of committing violent assault and battery and harming numerous individuals.”
Fulton alleged that Cage has helped aid Weston’s allegedly “reckless” lifestyle and has not provided him with the “necessary psychiatric” help.
She claimed that the “Wicker Man” star drinks with Weston “despite knowing his substance abuse history” and has repeatedly bailed him out of jail.
“Nicolas knew or should have known that Weston posed a serious and imminent danger to others, including Plaintiff, based on his documented history of violent assaults, substance abuse, and mental instability,” Fulton wrote.
In response, Cage’s lawyer called Fulton’s allegations against the actor “absurd and frivolous” in a statement released to Page Six on Thursday.
“Weston Coppola is a 34-year-old man,” the statement continued. “Mr. Cage does not control Weston’s behavior in any manner and is not responsible for Weston’s alleged assault of his mother.”
Fulton, notably, spoke out in July 2024 about Weston’s alleged “brutal” assault against her following his arrest.
Later that same month, Weston pleaded not guilty to charges of assault with a deadly weapon.
In addition to suing Cage over the alleged attack, Fulton also sued Weston for assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligent infliction of emotional distress.
Fulton insisted Wednesday, however, that the alleged altercation has “derailed” her life and “required extensive medical care, surgeries, and treatments” to treat a brain concussion, multiple contusions, a disfiguring eye injury, dental trauma, PTSD and psychological damages.
Weston was born in December 1990, two years after his parents started dating.
Cage is also the father of son Kal-El, 19, with ex-wife Alice Kim, as well as daughter August, 2, with wife Riko Shibata.
He has been married to Shibata, 30, since 2021.
Before their romance, Cage wed Patricia Arquette, Lisa Marie Presley, Alice Kim and Erika Koike.
Weston, for his part, has been married three times, sharing two kids each with exes Danielle Cage and Hila Cage Coppola.
