Nick Cannon’s Baby Making Game Show Prank Has Me TRIGGERED

A few days ago, Nick Cannon tweeted something that made people shake their heads in disbelief – “EXPECT some big news tomorrow…” followed by eyes and a baby bottle emoji.

We ALL expected him to announce baby #13, right? But then when he announced the birth of a new television show, we all collectively breathed a sigh of relief…until we saw a clip of the “new show.”

Now let me explain why I got so triggered about this possible new game show.

Let’s Talk About Why I Was So Upset About “Who’s Having My Baby?”

So why all the emotions about someone I don’t even know personally? The first thought going through my head – how can anyone think this is a good idea? How does someone with 12 children think that having a 13th child with a complete stranger is logical, healthy or normal in any way? That’s about the time I began to get angry. Is it my business? Nope, it doesn’t directly affect me.

But, and that’s a big but, as a mother who’s got some experience with divorce and childhood trauma, it’s an outrageous thought to me that anyone would want to bring a child into the world without some kind of foundation, some level of normalcy. Life is hard enough even with that, but without, oh boy. With so many adults trying to heal from their childhoods, and that being a common theme that many discuss openly now, it just made me think how terrible of a situation this could turn out to be. And I know I’m not alone in that thought process because the comment section of the clip was like a wildfire of anger and disbelief.

Having a 13th child with a complete stranger brings up some deep emotions for me. I’m sure many thought the same way I did – you have baby mamas that you know well, love, and are taking amazing care of your kids, so why not just have another baby with one of them if you really want another child? And that’s where a lot of the anger came from for me. I was mad for the mothers of his children who he has established relationships with already, and are doing a great job with their kids.

And then there’s the topic of why so many children? We are all given only 24 hours in a day and 7 days in a week, so how can any one person have enough time for 12 children, and a career that keeps you running? These are all the things that ran through my mind hearing about “Who’s Having My Baby?” and I know I’m not alone.

Nick Cannon’s New “Show” Caused Lots of Anger!

When we saw what this newly announced “show” was all about, people really started to lose their minds, just like I did. Seeing a clip on Instagram of the game show called, “Who’s Having My Baby?” where Cannon will be choosing the baby mama of his 13th child, set off a fire in probably more people than not. The thought of choosing a complete stranger on a game show to share a child with for the rest of your lives seems completely unreal. Like, who does that? Well, Cannon had us believing he would.

“Kevin Hart and Nick Cannon are coming to E! for the mother of all game shows,” the announcer said in the clip that was shared by Cannon on Instagram. “You’re gonna get some contestants that wanna have your baby,” Hart said. Then the announcer says, “We’re not KIDding around.”

Cue the anger right about NOW!

I don’t know whether this is a joke or serious, but regardless it’s disturbing. I don’t find it amusing in the slightest. Women are not a commodity to be peddled on a game show. What strikes me is the hypocrisy and double standard related to how the public has reacted to Nick Cannon versus how they would react. If we were talking about a woman that had 12 children with five different men,” one person wrote.

Another person commented, “Tone deaf much? In a time when women’s bodies are being abused and we cannot even choose what happens to our own bodies, not to mention the millions of people trying to have a baby and cannot. This is pretty gross. I hope this show is not real.”

And another follower of Cannon’s Instagram page wrote, “I really hope this is a joke. Babies are people, not a prize (or punishment) winning a game show. If a child is born from this, I hope they grow up to sue the people responsible for this show.”

Many of the comments sounded like Cannon really struck a nerve, or many. One follower pointed out, “This is so disrespectful of all mothers and the mothers of your children. This is embarrassing.”

And the outrage wasn’t contained just to his Instagram post. Anywhere this show was announced, there were big opinions that followed.

Then It Was Announced That We Were All Pranked…

And after all that emotion and confusion on what this show was all about, the truth came out a day later about the real show, “Celebrity Prank Wars.”

A new Instagram post captioned, “Gotcha!!!! ‘Who’s Having My Baby?’ was definitely a prank y’all, but #CelebrityPrankWars is our real show! 🤣 Tap in to the premiere April 6th on @eentertainment! @kevinhart4real,” explained that Cannon and Hart thought they were being funny with their fake announcement. To many people, they were being hilarious, and this time, the comments had a completely different vibe.

“First prank was on us love it 😂,” one follower wrote. Another added, “😅scared me for a minute 😂.”

I’ll be the first to admit – you got me! You got a LOT of other people too. Job well done? Yeah, I would say so. And because you evoked so much emotion pranking the world, it’s safe to say there will be a lot of viewers checking out the new show. But if there’s any takeaway here for Cannon, it’s don’t disrespect women or think babies can be used as a pawn in any game you’re playing, or you’re going to lose fans.
