A passenger plane’s landing gear has failed at Newcastle Airport, with emergency services rushing to the scene.
The Eastern Air Services plane, which was meant to be flying from Newcastle to Port Macquarie, is currently circling above Newcastle Airport to burn off fuel before it attempts to land.
Multiple emergency crews, including fire engines, are waiting on the runway.
‘It is circling to burn off fuel before it attempts to land,’ a spokesperson for NSW Fire and Rescue told Daily Mail Australia.

‘We have got five fire trucks standing by.’
NSW Police and NSW AMbulance are also in attendance.
‘About 9.30am today, emergency services were called to Newcastle Airport following reports of an aircraft with mechanical issues,’ a spokesperson for NSW Police said.
‘Officers attached Port Stephens Hunter Police District are on scene.’
