A man has been hospitalised with serious injuries and another is in custody after an alleged late night stabbing in Brisbane.

Police and paramedics responded to multiple calls for help after the incident unfolded around 3.15am today on Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley.

It’s believed an argument broke out between the two men, resulting in one being stabbed with a knife.

The 22 year-old victim was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The two men were not known to each other.

Police took a 21 year-old man into custody and recovered the alleged weapon nearby.
