A man is in hospital after he was shot four times in a suburban street – with his shooter still on the run.
Police were called to Winston Hills in Sydney’s west at about 10.50pm on Wednesday following reports of a shooting.
Officers found a man had been shot four times across various parts of his body when they arrived at Dale Place.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 28-year-old man at the scene.
He was then taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.
The 28-year-old remains under police guard in hospital.
A crime scene was established, with specialist forensic police brought in.

Shortly after, a Jeep Grand Cherokee was found ablaze in Northmead
Officers were also called to Redbank Road in Northmead following reports of a car fire at about 11pm on Wednesday.
Officers found a Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV alight. Despite the efforts of Fire & Rescue NSW the car was destroyed.
A second crime scene was established and the car was seized to undergo forensic examination.
The investigation remains ongoing, with police urging anyone with information to come forward.
