Monica Aldama of Cheer fame denies that she has anything to do with the coverup of Madi Lane’s sexual assault.
Monica Aldama Is ‘Heartbroken’

The Navarro College cheerleader coach claims to be stunned and “heartbroken by the false allegations” made by Lane. She claims that one of her goals, “year after year,” is to make Navarro Cheer a safe place for her students.
She also claims she was not made aware of the incident but would not sit in silence if she did become “aware that any sexual misconduct occurred in the Cheer program.” The coach spoke with TMZ, which also got a statement from a rep for Navarro College who echoed Aldama’s sentiments.
They also said they plan to “vigorously defend itself in court.” Lane is suing the school and Aldama over the 2021 assault.
Madi Lane Insists A Teammate assaulted her

The former Navarro College cheerleader filed a suit that accused Aldamo and the school of covering up and looking the other way when she brought an assault accusation to the higher-ups, including Aldama.
The athlete has accused Salvatore “Salvo” Amico of crawling into her bed one night after being invited over by her roommate. She claims he groped her chest and ripped her clothes off. She also says that Amico inserted his fingers inside her.

She screamed and begged him to stop. When Lane approached Aldama, she was told to “keep quiet” and “Let’s not make this a big deal.” They also threatened her chances at other colleges when she decided to leave the Navarro cheer squad.
Lane insisted that she was “blackballed” by Aldama and some teammates, like Maddy Brum, who was a big deal in season 2 of the Netflix docuseries. Brum said to her that they “don’t tell anyone” about sexual assault claims because they don’t want to be cut from the team.
Maddy Brum Is Tight-Lipped

Now that Aldama has spoken up, some are wondering if Brum will also speak up about the alleged assault of her former teammate. Currently, both girls no longer cheer for Navarro. Brum is on the US national cheer team cleaning up wins. They are the 2023 world champions.
Lane moved on to The University of Texas Permian Basin Cheer but still resents Navarro because she thinks they took the opportunity to be a national cheer athlete away from her when she was forced to change schools. Brum is suitable to be tight-lipped,, considering she is maybe two weeks into her new role on Team USA.

Since coming out with the news, Lane’s Instagram comments have been a source of support. “So proud of you for standing up! Please stay strong, and many of us are behind you.”
Another friend wrote, “My mom has already called the Corsicana District State Rep, Gov Abbott, and Navarro College’s president this morning. We’re fighting for you!”
It is refreshing to see the support that Lane is getting from people who are strangers. “We believe you ❤️ Thank you for speaking out and being the voice of those who have been silenced.”
