Netflix fans have heaped praise on what they say is a ‘great movie’ based on a novel, which features an ‘outstanding’ but upsetting finale.
Posting to the Facebook group Netflix Bangers, which has over 3.2million members, one user shared an image of a film she said she would ‘highly recommend’ to anyone who has not yet seen it.
Responding in the comments, other users said: ‘It’s a good movie but the book is better’.
One fan wrote: ‘Highly recommend the book!’
Another shared: ‘Good one to watch. I really enjoyed this but it is sad at the end. I may watch again.’

The plot is centred around a defiant girl, Kya (Edgar-Jones), who raises herself to adulthood in a North Carolina marshland after being abandoned.
However, when the town’s hotshot is found dead, she is the prime suspect and is tried for murder.
Upon its release in July 2022, the picture received mixed reviews from critics, who praised Edgar-Jones’s performance and the cinematography, but found the film’s overall tone to be somewhat incoherent.
However, the film was a bigger success at the box office, grossing $144.3million worldwide from a budget of $24million.
As well as being popular with audiences, it was a hit with music fans and Swifties across the globe, as Taylor Swift’s Carolina was featured in the soundtrack.
