Electronic music label This Never Happened will be playing at Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane in July with artists Le Youth, Paris, and Sultan + Shepard.

Ticket-buyers are warned up-front that they are attending a “phone and photo-free” event.
Event founder Daniel Goldstein, who performs as DJ Lane 8, said the rule allowed the crowd to be more “actively and organically engaged”.
“When I look out into the crowd at our TNH shows, I see such joy and celebration, not just for the music but also the human-to-human interaction that is only possible when we are truly present, not hiding behind a phone screen,” he wrote on Instagram.

This Never Happened has been holding these shows for the past six years.
Goldstein said in that time, the dialogue around how social media and phones were affecting human lives had become more recognised.
“I’m so glad that these conversations are happening and people are better understanding the impact technology has on our lives,” he said.
