Mums are loving Kmart's $3.25 Pet Brush Slicker Wooden they're using to clean their kid's soft toys

Mums are loving an ultra-cheap Kmart buy that is making well-worn kid’s toys and jumpers look like new again. 

Shoppers have found an alternate use for the retailer’s $3.25 Slicker Wooden Pet Brush normally for detangling matted fur on cats or dogs. 

One mum ‘revitalised’ her 10-year-old daughter’s beloved stuffed bunny that she had slept with every night since she was born using the handy gadget.

She had put the tattered and ratty bunny through the wash to get rid of dirt but only when she brushed it with the Kmart brush it came up looking sparling clean. 

Other parents are loving the brush and shared the household items they used it on from fleece jumpers to fluffy couch cushions.

‘Kmart pet brush to the rescue. Revitalising the kids’ much loved Jellycat bunnies,’ the Melbourne mum wrote in a post to the Kmart Home Décor and Hacks Australia Facebook page. 

‘The kids sleep with them every night and have since they were born. My oldest daughter’s is now 10 years old but now looks brand new again.’

She had soaked the stuffed bunnies overnight then put them through the washing machine before giving the pet brush a go.

‘Omg have to try this. Our bunny looks worse than yours,’ a mum wrote. 

‘Thanks for sharing I’ve been trying to get ours back to good for ages now I’m going to try this brush,’ a second replied. 

‘Omg never in my life have I loved a hack more!!!’ a third added. 

However not everyone’s children wanted their stuffed toys going through the transformation.

‘My daughter is very attached to her Jellycat bunny too. I just showed her this and asked if she’d like me to brush her bunny too. She said no she wants hers to be ‘old and special’. Good thing I asked!’ a parent laughed.

‘Would anyone else’s child have a meltdown if we took away the ‘loved’ fur off their bunny? We bought my son a backup just in case when he was smaller. He could feel the difference in softness and would always opt for his old bunny,’ another woman said.

‘I decided to take out my daughter’s ‘oodie’ to try and spruce up the Sherpa underside of it in preparation for the colder weather. I have to say I’m pretty pleased!’ one mum said in a previous post.

‘It does take a while but my daughter is happy to do them on her own as she found it quite a fun activity to do,’ she added.  

Others had brushed their sheepskin rugs as well a fluffy couch cushions with the budget buy reporting impressive results. 

‘Best tool ever!! Should see how I clean my carpet from cat hair now,’ one pet owner said. 

‘I used it on my shag rug! Looks brand new after I’m done with the brush,’ another responded.
