A mumbling madman viciously attacked a 66-year-old woman on a Brooklyn street Sunday afternoon in an apparently unprovoked assault that put the victim in the hospital, police said.
The victim was standing near the intersection of East 40th Street and Hubbard Place in East Flatbush about 4:45 p.m. when the unidentified thug — who had been talking to himself seconds before — walked up and started kicking her and punching her in the head, according to the NYPD.
Then the suspect — described as a man with a dark complexion who wore black glasses, a black hoodie, blue sweatpants and gray shoes — took off on Avenue K toward Flatbush Avenue.
The woman suffered a cut on her head, and EMS workers rushed her to Mount Sinai Hospital in stable condition, police said.
Cops haven’t made any arrests. But they did release a surveillance photo of the sunglass-wearing brute, who held a drink and had his hoodie pulled up when his image was caught by the camera.
Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
