‘Shower screens will be the death of me,’ the mum wrote.

‘I was ready to buy a new screen until today I used a blade to scrape off the soap scum after my usual trick of magic eraser just wasn’t cutting it and I literally can’t believe my eyes.’

The woman said she was hesitant to use the blade as she thought it could scratch the glass it however the screen was left unscathed as she ‘barely had to apply any pressure’ to scrape away the dirt.

She added that she didn’t use any water on the blade or the glass and the process took her ‘literally five minutes’.

‘I’m still yet to go over it with a cleaner to polish it up but it already looks 100 times better,’ she said.

‘Forget spending a fortune on chemicals, get yourself a blade!’

Group members in the comments were wowed by the ‘satisfying’ hack one woman said was a ‘gamer changer’ while others shared their own tricks for cleaning soapy shower screens.

‘I do this all the time. Only thing that works,’ one mum said.

‘I’m a cleaner and I use this. This and a bottle of floor cleaner from Aldi with halo and comes up sparkling,’ a cleaner recommended.

‘I tried the vinegar and dish detergent in the dish wand yesterday and it was amazing, didn’t even have to scrub,’ another woman said.

Many suggested switching from soap to shower gel as it doesn’t leave as much residue while others said to squeegee the screen after each shower.

‘We switched to body wash five years ago, very little scum left on tiles. Will not go back to soap bars,’ one woman said.

‘To stop soap scum build up, use shower gel to have a shower NOT soap,’ a second agreed.

A third replied: ‘You can still use soap as long as you squeegee the glass after every shower’.

‘I started using a squeegee eight weeks ago and haven’t had to clean the glass since. Literally takes me one minute.’
