An Arizona man – known as the ‘mullet streaker’ has been arrested for belly flopping into a body of water at Waste Management Phoenix Open.

Sean Patrick McConnell, 27, was cuffed after sprinting on to the golf course and jumping into the pond while just wearing his Speedos – giving spectators more of a show than they signed up for.

The mullet-clad man jumped from the bleachers, before running on to the green with his arms stretched out as he disrupted the hotly-contested Arizona tournament.

Clips circulated online of the streaker riling up the cheering crowds as he pole danced with the flag stick at hole 16.

He then successfully dodged law enforcement, before sprinting to the body of water.

And despite warnings that the pond water was not safe for humans to enter, McConnell kept on swimming through the water before finally being cuffed for his misbehavior.

After his ‘glory’ moment, McConnell was charged with trespassing, disorderly conduct, and failure to obey orders from a law enforcement officer.

Pouting in his mugshot after being arrested, the mullet man gained his 15 minutes of fame after clips of his streaking session went viral online.

Arizona Police said in a statement: ‘He eventually complied and swam to the 18th hole where he was placed under arrest. He was never in physical distress while in the water.

‘He was never naked.’

They added: ‘We actually did a public service announcement video on our YouTube and our social media channels about staying out of the water and why.

‘The water is reclaimed water. It’s not inherently dangerous, but it’s not meant for human consumption, and it’s not meant for humans to go into.

‘And so we want the message to be clear that people need to stay out of the water for their own health. It’s also illegal.’

Scottsdale Fire Department Capt. Dave Folio said about the body of water: ‘Trust me, people, stay out of the water. It’s got pesticides. It’s got chemicals that runoff from the golf course.’
