Mugger punches man, steals cell phone inside NYC subway station: cops

A mugger punched a 46-year-old man in the face and snatched his cell phone inside a Midtown train station early Monday, cops said.

The victim and suspect were arguing on board a southbound No. 1 train pulling into the 59th St-Columbus Circle station just before 5 a.m., police said. 

When the two men got off the train, the assailant punched the victim in the face and grabbed his phone, authorities said.

The victim and suspect were involved in a dispute before the robbery, cops said.

The robber took off and was still being sought later in the morning. 

The victim was not hospitalized, police said.
