Joshua Wheelton was already on a community corrections order for assault when he took out his rage on a mum and her two young girls.
Wheelton was driving mates Joseph Koocheek and Brian Fung to drinks in May of 2021, when he claims Amanda Greig cut them off on a major Melbourne freeway.
The three young men hurled abuse at Greig and began throwing objects at her car.
With her two young daughters in the back, she was desperate to get home but was tailgated to her driving, before she was attacked.
The court heard Koocheek grabbed the 44-year-old by the jumper before pushing her.
The hospital worker has been left with life long injuries.

“I keep breaking down in tears, I’m feeling sad that I keep having to shoo my kids away because I’m in pain or feeling miserable, then feeling guilty about that. I feel like I can’t be a proper mum or partner,” Greig said in a victim impact statement.
Her 10-year-old daughter, Scarlet, is now seeing a psychologist.
“I cried a lot that night. It made me feel angry, scared and upset,” her daughter said a victim impact statement.
“It’s made me feel sad and angry watching mum be hurt,” younger sister Amber also said.
All three men pleaded guilty to affray after having the charge of recklessly causing serious injury and assault thrown out.
Wheelton was given a community corrections order, the other two will be sentenced next week.
