“It’s a terrible, terrible circumstance,” Queensland Police Acting Inspector Mark Proctor said.

He said the pair were believed to have had a disability that hindered their ability to leave when the fire erupted.

Police are investigating the cause of the blaze but it is not being treated as suspicious.

Anybody with information is urged to contact police.
