The new flood warnings are in place from Cairns to Rockhampton with the Haughton River, south of Townsville, the biggest concern.
There are also major flood warnings in place for the Flinders, Herbert River, Murray, Cape, Upper Burdekin and Lower Burdekin Rivers.
There are moderate flood warnings in place for the Tully, Connors, and Isaac Rivers as well as the Ross, Bohle, Suttor and Western Rivers.
Flood warnings are also in place for the Diamantina, Proserpine, Gilbert and Black Rivers as well as Bluewater Creek.
As much as 250mm of rain is expected to fall this weekend in cities and towns that are already suffering from floods, including Townsville, Cardwell and Ingham.
More than 143mm of rain has hit the South Townsville area overnight, with another 131mm at Garu.
Minor flooding is expected in the areas surrounding the Barcoo, Normal and Pioneer Rivers.
It’s been over a week since north Queensland first became impacted by floodwaters, with extra SES volunteers, police and water rescue teams deployed to help keep the community safe.
There are still ongoing conversations about how to get supplies to areas that have been cut off due to flood waters.
The rain is expected to ease by Monday.
