A “monster” eastern brown snake has been found in a shed in rural New South Wales.

The snake was found in a shed in Rocky River, near Armidale.

Former Nationals leader Barnaby Joyce spoke to 2GB radio host Ben Fordham about the discovery, sending him the image.

“It is a monster, I wouldn’t go anywhere near that mate,” he said.

“It was found in a shed so (I’d say) it’s been clearing up some mice and rats.

“By the looks of it, it could clear up a pig.”

The eastern brown snake is considered the second deadliest snake in the world, according to the Billabong Sanctuary in Townsville.
