Closing all the frackin’ tabs …
PRESIDENT TRUMP: “If you don’t put Trump in, you’re not going to have any energy jobs. They’re not going to let you frack. She’s never said frack in her life until a short while ago when she realized her poll numbers are dying in Pennsylvania.” pic.twitter.com/3X3sTeVhJT

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump posted that Vice President Kamala Harris had “lost Pennsylvania” due to her past position on fracking, but the polls show a much tighter race.
The former president posted a link to a Fox News article on his Truth Social account titled “Unearthed video reiterates Harris’ previous support for fracking ban,” which he captioned “Comrade Kamala just LOST Pennsylvania.”
Ed: Not yet she hasn’t. Trump needs to stay on message to make that happen … and may need to camp out in PA for the next seven weeks.

Trump is scheduled to spend the rest of the week in battleground states Georgia and Michigan.
Democratic presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris is holding a campaign event in Pittsburgh on Wednesday, but no other details were available. She then is to head out west to Arizona, California and Nevada.
Ed: Presumably the California leg is for fundraising. But is that the priority now? She needs PA more than Trump does; Dems have no path to the White House without it.

Members of Pennsylvania’s Polish community penned a letter endorsing Kamala Harris after Harris, at the debate earlier this month, warned that Donald Trump would allow Russia to invade Poland once the war in Ukraine is finished under a Trump administration.
“Vice President Harris has a long, strong track record of protecting our democracy here at home and standing up for our brothers, sisters, parents and grandparents in Poland – the same people Vladimir Putin hopes to attack next if Ukraine were to fall,” the letter read.

Finally, we’d be remiss not to mention the possibility of a tie in the electoral college. It’s true that this scenario is more of an election nerd obsession — like contested conventions — but given how close the election is, it’s a scenario we should be at least somewhat prepared for.
There are multiple ways this could happen, but the most relevant scenarios involve the two states that assign their electoral votes differently: Maine and Nebraska. They are not winner-take-all, but instead allow candidates to win individual electoral votes if they win a congressional district.
This meant that in 2020, Biden won Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District, which contains Omaha and its suburbs, even as Trump won the state by almost 20 points. Similarly in Maine, Trump won its more rural 2nd Congressional District, while Biden won the state by nine points. But if Republicans are successful in changing how Nebraska assigns its votes, this scenario would actually become even likelier, because then Harris winning Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan would lead us straight to this outcome.
Ed: Ugh. I don’t even want to think about that scenario. The House would then elect the president based on state delegations, and the Senate the VP. I’ve seen enough novelty in this cycle to last me a lifetime, thank you very much.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump says he will slap a 200 per cent tariff on John Deere’s imports into the United States if the agricultural equipment company moved production to Mexico as planned.
“As you know, they’ve announced a few days ago that they are going to move a lot of their manufacturing business to Mexico,” Trump said at an event held in western Pennsylvania.
“I am just notifying John Deere right now that if you do that, we are putting a 200 per cent tariff on everything that you want to sell into the United States.”

Ed: I wanted the actual final word tonight. John and Amy are awesome, and this time I connected with studio-quality equipment so I didn’t sound as though I was talking into a tin cup connected by string.
