A woman was arrested and branded a ‘Karen’ after publicly berating a mother in a Mexican restaurant after her baby made some noise.
In a series of TikToks video that have racked up more than 11 million views, a user named Madi shared a disturbing encounter with a 50-year-old woman she said she got in a fist fight with after she was screamed at about her child.
The confrontation took place at Jalapeño Grill, a Mexican restaurant located in Mississippi.
In one video, a group of customers rallied behind Madi, putting themselves between the young mother and the unhinged woman, telling the fuming woman to calm down.
The woman then erupts, violently screaming at the surrounding customers, ‘then don’t bring your f*cking baby to a f*cking restaurant.’

She continues her tirade, complaining that she and other patrons can hear the baby from the other side of the restaurant.
‘People at my tables and tables next to me couldn’t hear me talking,’ the woman said aggressively to one of the men, to which he replied ‘we never even heard the baby over there.’
Before the situation could escalate any further, security officers entered the restaurant. They ordered all customers to get their food to go and vacate the premises, but the woman continued to cause a scene.
Having had enough, the officer shouts ‘STOP’ at her, immediately quieting her down. ‘If we stay, people are going to jail,’ the officer said firmly.
The woman then called Madi a ‘f*cking wh*re’ and flipped her off before she was arrested and escorted out of the restaurant by security.
The internet was quick to come to Madi’s defense, sharing their beliefs that the woman was out of line.
‘I didn’t even hear the baby once during all this,’ one user commented.
‘She’s the freaking baby,’ chimed another, referring to the wojman who was arrested.
‘If you go out to eat it’s common courtesy to accept and expect that there might be some kind of distraction. If you wanna have a quiet conversation, invite your friend to your house,’ said another user.
In a follow up video, Madi said she didn’t know any of the customers who stood up for her and protected her during the incident.
She clarified that her baby was not crying the whole time, and if in fact that was the case, she would have left the restaurant on her own accord.
Madi said she was at dinner with her mother, who had taken a pen from her son, which prompted him to make some noise.
Once she heard the rude remarks from the woman, she stood up and ran to the wrong table and asked who made the comment about her son.

The table then directed her to the group of people next to them, where Madi said the woman ‘was literally hiding in her cubby like a scared little puppy.’
She said the woman pushed her first, which Madi took as a ‘green light’ to stand up for herself.
At the end of the video, Madi posted the woman’s mugshot. She did not release the woman’s name.
