Earlier this month, the popular model took to Instagram to share a shot of her posing for Us magazine on a cover published on July 4, 1983. The title reads “Hot Stuff: Sexy Celebs Rev Up For Summer Madness” and featured a young Christie posing in a strapless white bikini with a ruffled pink skirt around her legs.

Lol‼️” she wrote in the caption. “UNLESS you get up and exercise to keep your body strong which is exactly what I’m about to do!” She also included the hashtags #tbt, #workout, #move, #staystrong, #stayhealthy, and #stayflexible.

“You’re funny! LOL It is fun to go back, though. You are always such a delight and an inspiration,” one fan commented. “You look the same as you did 40 years ago!! Shortly before that post, Christie took to Instagram yet again to share two photos that featured four baseball cards. In one photo of Christie in 1996, she is kneeling in the sand at the beach. She is wearing a pair of daisy dukes and has an open book covering her chest.

“To celebrate Baseball’s Opening Day Today, I’m throwing it back to the time I was hired as a photographer by Pinnacle Baseball Card Company to take the pictures of the two teams that made the World Series Final Game, the Indians, now called @cleguardians and the @braves,” she wrote in the caption.

Even now, the popular model doesn’t mind sharing her bathing suit snaps on social media. In April 2021, the “American Style” star spoke to Fox News Digital about why she posts those photos.

“I post these pictures because I hear from women my age all the time that say, ‘Thank you for changing the way people think about the numbers,’” she said at the time. “Back in the day, numbers represented something. I remember people thinking that after 30, you should never wear your hair past your shoulders or your hemline needed to hover your knee caps.”

“I’ve always found those rules so limiting,” Christie continued. “Everybody’s different, everybody’s unique. But it’s like telling a gymnast she can’t do flips past a certain age. It doesn’t make sense. If you’ve got great legs, show them. If there’s something about yourself that you really love, celebrate that. Don’t be controlled by those numbers.”

Christie joked, “I’ve been there, done that,” when asked if she’d pose as a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover girl again, adding, “I doubt it.” She later added, “I think when I put on my bathing suit again, I want to also have a snorkel and go diving, see the fish.”
