A toddler who went missing from his home has died after he was found unconscious in a dam.
The little boy went missing from his home in Lara, a town located about 18km north east of Geelong, Victoria, at 5.20pm on Tuesday.
A widespread search for the boy was launched, which included officers on foot and assistance from the police Air Wing.
The toddler was tragically found unconscious in a dam off Windermere Road.
Officers performed CPR until paramedics arrived but the boy could not be saved and he died at the scene.

Police have not released the age of the toddler or any other details surrounding the boy’s death.
An investigation into the exact circumstances of his death is ongoing.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
